meet your artist

My name is Jayde and I’ve been tattooing since 2018.

I’m a diehard lover-girl, daydreamer, introvert (INTP, for those who know) and I adore old things: buildings, clothes, games, music.

I am happiest in the palace of my mind, watching Poirot or building an epic fantasy base.

Oat milk flat white supremacy!!!

Best things: Red velvet cake, Irises, Lavender-blue, the smell of petrol.

Worst things: People who stand still at the top of escalators, litter, torn teabags.

FAQs

  • The best way is to fill out my booking form here.

If you want to ask some quick questions feel free to send an email to: spitneybeerstatu@gmail.com

If you do email with a view to book a tattoo, please include as much info as possible: what you’d like, where on the body, the size and an idea of your availability.

  • You can find me in the beautiful rain city, Manchester at Heartless Hands Club.

I’ll still be at Feel Good Tattoo Parlour, Lincoln from Wednesday to Saturday until August. Booking June/July now.

    Studio Addresses:

    • Feel Good Tattoo Parlour, Floor 2, Soundlincs, 18 St Martin's Ln, Lincoln LN2 1HY

    • Heartless Hands Club, Hope Mill, Pollard Street, Manchester, M4 7JA

  • I work out my pricing by piece for flash or by hour for custom designs - £100ph. To give an estimate before the appointment, I need a few details:

    • Placement - Where on the body would you like the tattoo.

    • Size - It doesn’t have to be exact and I’ll still make you a few size options of your tattoo on the day to get the perfect version, but a rough estimate helps! *Bigger doesn’t always = more expensive and, equally, smaller doesn’t always = cheaper!

    • Detail - Intricate and highly detailed pieces price up because they take more work and usually need to be larger. *This includes large areas of black filling!

    • Customs - If I work on a custom design from your ideas, the price reflects the time it takes to design before our appointment and the finished result being entirely unique to you!

    • Changes - Minor detail changes are included (removing text, changing hair colour etc). Charges apply for changes in design that require extra time spent drawing. *If I’m working on a custom design and you want to make changes in design after the first show, this incurs a charge so make sure you’re as clear as possible with your brief beforehand!

I charge a minimum of £80 - If you’re lusting after something really small or simple, it’s best to add it to an appointment with a larger piece - I’ll usually throw it in for free!

  • To confirm your booking I will ask for a deposit of *£50-£150. All deposits are non-refundable.

In the event that you’re sick or something goes wrong, I may offer to reschedule your appointment to another date at my own discretion. If your appointment is rescheduled, this is only a one time offer. If you miss the new appointment for any reason, you’ll need to put down a new deposit for the third.

    Why are deposits non-refundable?

    • Deposits cover things like admin and drawing time and ensure that you are serious about your commitment to book!

    • When I allocate time for your booking it can’t be offered to anyone else; in the event of last minute cancellations or no-shows the deposit helps to cover some of the financial loss on my side - imagine if you showed up to work one day to find out you weren’t paid for those hours!

Other instances of a deposit being forfeit:

    • Your deposit will be forfeit if I’m waiting on you to confirm a date and you have not responded in a week or more.

    • Arriving 15 minutes or more late to your appointment without attempting to contact me will be considered a no-show.

    • If you will be too late to complete the work that we have planned, even in the event that you contact me, you may lose your deposit.

*Deposits work on a scale tied to the value of the appointment in order to cover the upfront cost of being there.

    Up to £250 - - - - £50

    £250-£400 - - - - £100

    £400+ - - - - £150

    • All deposits are deducted from the total amount of your tattoo on the day of your appointment.

  • I do take custom requests though you have to inspire me! I prioritise my own designs above custom requests, but if you have a loose theme or idea that I can run with in my own style, let’s do it!

If you’ve chosen a custom design, drawing starts after the deposit is paid. I draw in order of bookings so please be patient. It’s possible that you may not see your design until the day before or the day of your appointment.

I won’t be tattooing designs made by other artists. If you want to bring artwork by others for reference, that’s totally fine, but expect that your design will look different.

Do not bring me AI mock-ups of your tattoo idea. A few sentences of description and reference images are more than enough, it’s literally my job to do this for you. Lets keep art human!

  • The only real difference between machine and manual (handpoke) tattooing is how the needle is moved. In handpoke, I make the movement by hand that the machine would make for me.

The materials are all the same; the ink and needles etc.

Handpoke tattoos tend to have a grainy quality to them since you’re usually able to see more of the individual marks; it’s part of the charm! If you’re more into the more smooth effect, this might be something to consider before getting a handpoked tattoo!

    • Pain! The thing everyone wants to know - Does it hurt more or less than machine tattoos?‍ ‍There’s no simple answer for this since pain tolerance varies between people and placements. Most people describe handpoke as being sharp and, well… pokey, but overall less painful compared to machine tattoos which are described as having more of a burning or hot cat scratch sensation.

    • They heal more quickly! Having your tattoo handpoked could as much as half the healing time. Less ink is used and there is less trauma to the skin which makes for a quicker heal. (That also means getting through that itchy phase faster!)

    • Its quiet. No buzzing or bone rattling! Just me yapping away, hehe.

For all of the above reasons, handpoke can be perfectly suited for the more sensitive of folks, be it; sound, soul or skin <3

    • First we’ll look at the design and I’ll usually offer a few sizes for you to choose from.

    • We’ll apply the stencil in the place you’ve chosen after an alcohol-clean and skin prep, this might also require shaving to remove any body hair in the area.

    • I’ll set up while the stencil dries and you’ll have a chance to check out the placement in the mirror.

    • Tattoo time!

    • I’ll ask to photograph your new tattoo.*

    • I’ll wrap the tattoo site to protect it from damage/dirt on your way home.

    • Finally, we swap cash, fist bump and I send you on your merry way with a handful of stickers!

*You can absolutely refuse to have a picture taken. Alternatively, if you’re happy for me to take a picture for my records but not to post it anywhere, I would honour that request.

    • Get a good nights sleep.

    • Have a filling and healthy breakfast.

    • Come showered, fresh and clean.

    • Avoid drinking/smoking (drugs too, you naughty bunch!) in the days surrounding your appointment.

    • Avoid blood thinning medications, such as aspirin, in the days surrounding your appointment.

    • You should allow plenty of time for your tattoo, I can help you estimate once we’ve agreed on a design.

    • Plan your outfit for comfort and practicality - Guys, you look wicked, but ink accidents can happen and I need to not worry about accidentally smearing all over your brand new Named Collective fit - If in doubt, wear something dark or old!

    • Make sure that the tattoo site is easily accessible! Cannot stress this enough - The area we’re tattooing needs to be clear of clothing. You wont be able to hold something out of the way for hours and I wont be able to work properly. Think: halter neck tops for upper back tattoos, a backwards zip up for sternums/stomachs.

    • Photo Identification that shows you are 18+

    • The means to pay for your tattoo. I accept cash or transfer.

    • Water and snacks - something sweet will help you keep your blood sugar up!

    • Wear something comfortable with access to the tattoo area or something to change into. (A hoodie is always a good idea for using as a comfort pillow!)

Friends? - You are welcome to bring someone with you for emotional support, but please only bring the one person and make sure that they’re happy to entertain themselves while they wait. We have to respect the space of others in the studio and being crowded while we work is a recipe for disaster!

  • I make physical gift cards that come in a little envelope and can be customised to any amount. Perfect as a gift for a friend or for your future self!

    Ts & Cs:

    • Giftcards cannot be used to pay for deposits, but can be used to pay for all, or put towards, the remaining balance of your tattoo. Anything left over will be drawn up on a new card for you.

    • They’re valid for a year from purchase so don’t worry about rushing those important choices!

    • They can’t be used during promotional events such as sales/giveaways or studio flash days.

    • In the circumstance that a pre-payment is made, for example, during a promotion or if you’ve pre-paid part or all of your tattoo before the day, but you can’t make the appointment or change your mind, you would receive a gift card for the amount.

  • I have a chronic illness called Multiple Sclerosis (MS) where my immune system attacks and damages my brain.

Don’t worry, it’s not contagious, haha! But I do have to take immunosuppressant medications to manage it which leaves me at risk of A: getting sick more easily and B: getting very sick (even if it’s just a cold!) When I get sick it can trigger an attack and lead to a worsening of my health - losing the ability to walk, see, hold things… the list goes on!

At best, I might be out of action anywhere from two weeks to a few months; at worst, I could be left with a life long disability (I promise I’m not being dramatic, it really is that bad!!)

    How you can help!
It’s not always possible to avoid catching a cold, but please take care by considering your own health, the health of anyone you’ve been in contact with recently (friends/family/colleagues) and that of anyone else who might come to your appointment with you.

The symptoms of my illness fluctuate and sometimes I just can’t work. It can come on quite suddenly and may mean rearranging our appointment. I promise to always manage this with respect to your time and life planning, it’s just another thing that sometimes, sadly, is unavoidable. So please try to understand if we have to cancel or rearrange <3

    Live fast, live forever!
